Jake Gordon

Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I make an appointment with Jake?

Jake only takes new clients on 3-4 times a year. He posts his “booking date” on his Instagram(@handshakesnaketattoos). ON THAT DATE AT 12:00 NOON, Jake starts taking emails. From there you will be responded to.

Do I need a consultation?

Jake will get any information he needs from you through email, and if there is any confusion on his end he will reach out and possibly ask for a phone call.

When will I see my tattoo sketch and/or finalized drawing?

The drawing process starts 1-2 nights before the tattoo appointment. This means you will see your finalized drawing when you come in for your tattoo. Every appointment has plenty of time built in for drawing discussions and minor changes. Any changes that result in large reworks  will be rescheduled if needed. Jake asks that you give him your trust, and he will do his best to make something you will love.

Does Jake do cover ups?

Cover ups are typically taken on a case-by- case basis. Most of time if a cover up is involved the tattoo becomes a larger scaled piece. Remember that by covering up a tattoo, it will end up being 2-3 times bigger than it stands currently.

How do I prepare for my tattoo appointment?

Jake asks that 1-2 weeks before your appointment, you eat healthy(ish), stay very hydrated, and get enough sleep. The more energy and healthy you feel the day of the appointment, the more your body will help tolerate pain.

* Do not drink alcohol, take blood thinning medication, or drink a lot of caffeine 24 hours before your appointment

* Do not come in hungover or under the influence of any drugs or alcohol. If Jake feels this is the case your deposit will be forfeited and you will have to reschedule

Please eat a good meal before your tattoo appointment! This is a crucial step that many people forget - eating a large dense meal gives your body everything it needs to make it through a long tattoo session.

***REMEMBER these things to help create the best tattoo experience for your body.***

Deposits?

* Deposits are taken prior to the appointment, and will come off the final price of the tattoo. Jake typically charges a flat daily rate for each client which consists of about 5-8 hours of work.

* Deposits are non-refundable, no matter the situation, and will not be refunded. Please note that all cancellations cannot be filled, and even if you cancel, Jake has already spent time preparing for your tattoo project.

* If rescheduling less than 48 hours occurs, your deposit will be forfeited, and you will need to leave a new one for your appointment to continue

***If rescheduling and cancelling becomes a problem, Jake may not take you as a client for future bookings.***

* Cancelling the day of your appointment will forfeit your deposit in any situation. If this happens more than twice, you will be denied future bookings.

Running Late?

* If you fail to arrive after 20 minutes, without reaching out (on your appointment day), your deposit will be forfeited

***PLEASE REACH OUT IF YOU ARE RUNNING BEHIND BY EMAILING JAKE OR CALLING THE SHOP.***
